Hyderabad Metro Rail Corridor Inspection

 Hyderabad Metro Rail Corridor Inspection

Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd (HAML) MD NVS Reddy, along with senior engineers, inspected the proposed Metro Rail corridors to Medchal and Shamirpet to address alignment challenges.

Key Highlights

1. Major Challenge:

Steep curvature near Paradise to Bowenpally led to the proposal of a 600-meter tunnel under the Begumpet airport runway.

Transitioning between double-elevated and tunnel structures presents engineering difficulties.

2. Integrated Corridor Plan:

Combine Paradise-Medchal and JBS-Shamirpet corridors at Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to streamline alignment and avoid tunneling.

3. Optimized Alignments:

Use service road medians for Metro pillars near Bowenpally.

Extend JBS-Shamirpet route as a double-elevated structure over Karimnagar Highway.

4. JBS Metro Hub Development:

Pool 30 acres of land to develop JBS as a major Metro hub for Secunderabad, northern Hyderabad, and nearby districts.

5. Inspection Areas:

Roads like JBS-Secunderabad Club Road, Mudfort Road, and Tivoli Junction were assessed to ensure minimal disruptions.

This plan aims to enhance connectivity with a seamless 60 km Metro link from Medchal to the airport.
